Understanding Your Saturn in Aries Story
On May 24th, 2025, Saturn will make his first ingress in the sign of Aries, where it will stay until September 1st, 2025. This shift in gears of Saturn, planet related to our compasure and control over our material resources, will not just test our resiliance in the face of chaos and reactiveness, but will also bring about the dissipation and re—structure of our ideals due to the presence of Neptune in the same sign. We haven't had these two planets interact in such proximity to each other since the fall of the Berlin Wall and, even though the exact moment of conjunction between Satrun and Neptune won't occurr until February 2026, we are already witnessing a great re-shuffling of power dynamics on the World's stage, latest of which the eerily quick and effective election of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope.
While these larger geo-political dynamics in close proximity to large planetary shifts are always fun to notice and reflect upon, the real question that keeps our curiosity lit is:
What does it mean for me?
If you're up for some investigative work and self-reflection, here are some specific dates to look out for in the process of discovering which themes will surface in your life in the next 3 years (Saturn will leave the sign of Aries on Thursday, April 13th, 2028).
On the other hand, if you’d prefer recieving a professional opinion on how Saturn and Neptune in Aries will interact with the compnents of your birth chart,
As Saturn enters the sign of the Ram, he will receive aspects from the Moon and Mercury, which will be our main allies in our investigation attempts.
The Council of The Moon
The moon, shining her light of emotional reflection, through her speedy journey across the zodiac, will give us plenty of opportunities to sit down and reflect on how this larger-scale transit of Saturn is reflecting upon our lives. In particular, the moon will travel through a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) 14 times between May 24th and September 1st, 2025. During those days emotions and interactions with femme/female archetypes and figures in your life may not run as smoothly as you'd like, and that's because as the Moon finds herself in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, she will make "hard aspects" both to Saturn and Neptune in rapid succession.
Moments of conflict, difficult interactions, and possible emotional distress don't necessarily make for the most pleasant of days, however, because these uneasy interactions tend to stand out from the prosaic day-to-day, they could serve as useful landmarks in our long-haul investigation.
If you notice yourself losing your temper, getting involved in arguments, or getting blocked or opposed by a person who is your superior in rank, either at work (e.g., your boss) or at home ( e.g., a parent or elder), take some time to reflect on the following journaling questions:
What was I trying to initiate (cardinal signs are all about getting things started)?
How did I feel restricted (Saturn) and/ or dismissed (Neptune) by my perceived opponent?
Who were the people (or institutions) involved in the face-off?
How could this friction shape the next 3 years of my life?
The translation of Mercury
Between May 24th and September 1st, Saturn in Aries will also receive aspects from Mercury, the planet of translation, communication, and dialogue.
Even though the direct contacts between Mercury and the Aries area of your chart will be fewer than those represented by lunar dynamics, there's a potential for a clearer understanding of what the over-arching Saturn in Aries dynamic will bring about in your personal life.
As I stated before, Mercury is the planet of communication, both oral and written. Whenever this planet comes into contact with another, it serves as a reporter's microphone, amplifying and recording the message of the person (or in our case, planet) interviewed, so that it can be easily understood and referenced by the audience.
The first contact that Mercury will have with Saturn and Neptune will be a sextile, which will happen on May 25th of 2025. Within the span of 24 to 48 hours, Mercury in Gemini's acumen and attention to detail will move from a helpful and pragmatic application of control and structure to one's surroundings, to a rapid longing for escapism and reliance on your intuition to navigate your interpersonal connections.
If one is not used to this type of quick change of pace, it might feel a little bit unsettling at first.
As the logical and practical influence of Saturn is overruled by the dreamy and unclear leverage of Neptune, one might feel like very little to no progress has been made.
With this new awareness of the impending tug of war between focus and imagination, take a few moments in the previous week to assess how much you've got on your plate. The dynamic focus brought by Saturn in a fire sign will be better off with fewer items on one's to-do list, making the transition into Mercury's sextile with Neptune easier to process.
To uncover your Saturn in Aries story, take some time to reflect on the following questions:
What is my current priority?
What needs to go on the back burner?
How can I streamline my calendar to allow time for possible distractions alongside my daily grind?
How can I express my gratitude for the progress I have been able to accomplish, regardless of how much I've been able to get done?
What conversations or relationships are distracting me from my goals?
On June 9th of 2025, as Mercury moves into the nurturing and protective waters of Cancer, he will come to a square aspect to Saturn and Neptune in Aries.
This might be a period where one is under a heavier load of mental work than usual, making communications in other areas of one’s life more difficult and tense. Misinterpretation of intentions will inevitably create friction and delays. During this period, it's important to keep communications brief and as truthful as possible. The main pitfall that one could run into during this dynamic is the constant procrastination and delay of important communications because one is concerned with crafting the perfect message.
Done is better than perfect, and truth, however uncomfortable, is always the quickest and easiest way to move forward. On this day and during the week to follow, there might be a sense of disillusionment and uncertainty about the motives of the people one is interacting with, which could lead to discouragement and pessimism. Forcing to reframe everything in a positive fashion is not going to prove a fruitful endeavour. Instead, try to remind yourself that, from your perspective, you can only see one small portion of the whole picture.
If you're finding this week particularly difficult to deal with, try to reflect on the following question:
Who am I having trouble communicating with?
Are my fears of being deceived by this particular person or group of people grounded in their past behavior patterns?
Am I assuming the worst in others as a knee-jerk attempt at self-protection?
In which areas of my life am I creating unnecessary delays?
If I need to let this relationship go, what have I learned, and how will I move forward?
On June 27th, Mercury in Leo will trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries.
As Mercury in Leo interacts with Saturn in Aries, one will find greater ability to focus despite external distractions, a greater capacity to take in larger amounts of details, and very few obstacles in the way of applying the newly discovered data in a creative way. Communications on this day are straight to the point because one is simply so engrossed with work that any frivolities are set aside.
However, on the weekend, as Mercury gets closer in aspect to Neptune, one's voice will go from quiet and reserved to loud and strongly opinionated. One might be convinced that the advice they're giving (or receiving, depending on where Leo is in one's chart) is not only sound but also grounded in good ideals. Whether the conversations and messages delivered right now are factual or illusory will be very unclear, as the line between self-centeredness and heartfelt generosity will be blurry at this time. Regardless of how this balance may be skewed, it is likely that the conversations happening around the last days of June will be put under closer scrutiny during the month of July, as Mercury will go through its second retrograde cycle of 2025 in the sign of Leo.
At this point of Saturn's transit through the first degrees of Aries, there should be greater clarity on how to navigate the obstacles that may be in your way between now and April of 2028. Take a moment to reflect on the following questions:
What are the inevitable repercussions of the dialogues happening around me?
How can I practice and inspire courage in the face of disillusionment?
Who are the people in my life that I need to include in the conversations at hand, instead of assuming I have all the answers?
In which areas of my life can I use creative thinking and planning to fend off chaos and selfish behaviour emerging in my community and eroding my closest relationships?
How can I keep my energy levels stable in the next 3 years and avoid burnout as I work toward a new version of control and stability in my life?
